Hehe..

So, last week, Psi and I were talking about stuff and somehow got around to missing Legacy C's and planned to have Legacy Weekend. We were just going to do a random action scene to see C's that we've missed for a while. We also talked about the idea of this becoming an 'every weekend' sort of deal. Just brush off old C's and give 'em a whirl. No real SLs or anything. Just fun type RO. Weekend rolled by and it actually got pushed to Monday cause of someone's modem..hehe.

Psi and I RPed a scene between Alexa 'n Pierce..gettin' some biochip and running like mad to get out of a Russian facility. Twas good times and it was great to get those juices flowing. After the first post, other people started popping in and soon people were talking about what C's to bring back, being game for RP, so on and so forth. Another scene was started up and twas a good evening.

So..looks like there might be RP in Legacy for a while now. Just random scenes for the moment as we figure stuff out. Legacy was left in kind of a bind after it lost a few of its major StoryTellers all at one time. Dunno if they realized how badly they crippled the room when they left, but it's no biggie. People have things to do and that's fine. I'm not blaming or ranting about that. Just stating that the loss of those people really hurt the room and the room dynamics. We were stuck with no direction and it was hard to come up with one. We tried a Generations SL..but were met with a bit of resistance and just lack of interest it seemed. Whether it came from the actual SL itself or just the absence of certain people..well..who knows.

So..Legacy went dormant until now. Sure, peeps might have talked and said how they missed Legacy and what not, but we never went back in to play really. Mostly because we didn't know what to do.

Until now. *L* Just go in there and run little scenes with C's and have some fun. After all, that's the main goal of RP right? Have fun? Express creativity? Woot.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I hope people don't expect too much out of the little spark of life in Legacy now. I hope they don't expect it to become the full fledged poppin' SM filled room that it once was. Yes, there will be RP there. Little scenes that may move a few things around..but it's not going to be huge and all encompassing. We'll figure out what to do with some aspects of the room. What we'll play around with, what we'll leave alone and what we'll actually get rid of.

Who knows..maybe eventually something will grow from that. Only time will tell.

And if not? And the room is asked to drop to some supported PR or something, then we'll still have our place to pick up old C's and play 'em when we want.

Feel free to join us if you want. You don't have to. If you don't feel comfortable then by all means don't play. If you don't feel the room is the same without certain people, then by all means..you don't have to play. Though, I would suggest giving it a shot before riding it off completely. Legacy is so much more than one or two people. And everyone that played there in the past, whether it was just one RP or it was a gazillion, made it the room that it was when it was in its prime.

So..come have fun with us.

Right now, I'm just happy to bring C's back. Alexa, Lorena, Hailey, Aislin, and other C's all in their original formats.

Video Games Live!

But first..a poem

Roses are #FF0000
Violets are #0000FF
All your base are belong to us!

Haha. That's what started off the Video Games Live concert followed by a video of Mrs. Pac-Man being chased down city streets by three ghosts. Twas great.

If you ever get the chance to go to the Video Games Live concert, please do! It's awesome hearing all the music from various video games performed by a live orchestra and choir. Our night started with a montage of music from classic old games (Pong, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Duck Hunt, etc and so on). The music was all accompanied by a clips of scenes and game play from the various games.

I don't really remember the order of all the video games they covered so I'll just list them. We got to hear music from Metal Gear Solid, Medal of Honor, Myst, Civilization IV, God of War (it sounds like 'milkshake' when played live too *L*), Kingdom Hearts, A Final Fantasy piano montage, Tron, Legend of Zelda, Sonic, Super Mario Bros., World of Warcraft (which was freakin' awesome), Halo, Starcraft II, Tetris..and I think that's it.

All the music was accompanied by clips from the various games. The only ones that didn't have clips were Kingdom Hearts and The Final Fantasy montage because SquareEnix didn't allow them to show the clips.

Oh..and this guy, Martin Leung, played the Final Fantasy Piano medley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVRT2i5ZRfs That's a clip of his performance at another concert. It's awesome. He was the guy who did the Super Mario Bros. theme on the piano while blindfolded. He did that at the concert too..which was incredible to see.

Oh..and video taping? Totally okay. Our host even made the comment "I see a bunch of red and orange lights? That's okay. Must make sure to post it up. Get the word out." Which, I wish I'd of known cause then I'd of brought my video camera *L* Haha..well..next time. Cause I am going again when it comes by MO.

It was an interactive concert as well. They pulled people up from the audience. One guy had to be the ship in Space Invaders and had to move around the stage to avoid getting blown up while blowing up the little aliens *L* Twas amusing to watch. They had a costume contest as well. The gal that won dressed up as a piranha plant from Super Mario Bros. Twas a neat costume.

Oh..and I now know why the Alliance keeps getting their asses handed to them in WoW. After the WoW segment, the conductor yells out "FOR THE HORDE!" and 2/3s of the theatre yells back. Then he goes "FOR THE ALLIANCE" and the boos covered up those that yelled back *L* Haha.

The night was excellent and I totally recommend shelling out a few bucks and seeing this concert. The atmosphere is totally relaxed. People get into it and the energy from all that is just unbelievable. Completely worth the 3+ hour drive to St. Louis! I've already told Roy we're going next year. Maybe we'll even go dressed up as something. Haha. Yeah. Right.

Here are some YouTube clips to check out to get an idea of the setting of the concert and how crazy it can get. None of them are from the concert I was at, but it's the same music and same clips.

Metal Gear Solid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_6LG8dyE0U
Legend of Zelda: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKjlv7L-z28
Super Mario Bros: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBm-KvD1bTY
Halo (all 3 of 'em): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnSIiBdpp7A
Warcraft: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BuM82MZ3Jg

And for more..just go to YouTube and do a search for Video Games Live.

Oh..and our evening ended with an encore type performance of this:

<lj-embed id="10" />

I swear it's to the Final Fantasy series as the Imperial March is to Star Wars series of movies. You can make it an analogy. One Winged Angel is to Final Fantasy as the Imperial March is to Star Wars. Haha..

Fun.

I put up my tree but..I have no ornaments to put on it. *L* Okay..I have like..eight ornaments I can put on it. At least it's one of those pre-lit trees though so it's not completely blank. This weekend I'll put up the lights outside.

I'm really trying to get into this whole Christmas spirit thing and mood, but I'm not feeling it as much as I usually do. *L* I bought all the stuff to make pretzels with so I'm thinking of doing that this weekend too. Makin' pretzels. That way I can actually send them out early this year *L* Plan on doing the same with Christmas cards too. At least I don't have to buy those. I have a few sets from years past. Hehe.

I miss having a fire place. Wouldn't mind one. That..and...mmmmmm s'mores.

So, back from Florida. Twas a good trip all around. The shuttle launch was beautiful and perfect. I'll try and get my video of it uploaded somehow, but any TV video of the launch will be ten times better than mine. *L* Especially since I was looking at the wrong launch pad for the last minute of countdown. So were a ton of other people, so I don't feel as bad.

Dad always said you don't go to a launch to see it, you go to feel it. You really do feel it. Lots. We were 3 miles away from the pad and could feel all the vibrations and just hear everything. Twas freakin' awesome. So want to go again, but the next chance I'll get is in 2010 and it's the last scheduled launch of the shuttle, ever. So that means it'll be hard for dad to get tix for peeps. Hopefully he can get it moved up to 2009 and hopefully Roy will be state side so I can drag him along as well.

The rest of the stay in Florida was up in Gainesville, hanging with my sister and her fiance. Twas a good time though it was constantly cloudy and sprinkling, so..no sun :-(. We did random things. Toured around campus. I drove them to and from class occasionally. Saw a play of the Night of the Living Dead which was very much entertaining. Went shopping. Mostly though, we just hung out and played games like Munchkin and Crononauts. Both are awesome games! Munchkin's worth getting just to read the cards. Oh..and there's Super Munchkin which takes more of a superhero twist to the game.

Gators lost though, to Georgia :-(. Twas a sad time at the Swamp. Notre Dame didn't play this past weekend, so there's a pause in the losing streak *L*.

When dealing with a receptionist..

Please remember it's not their fault if the person you're trying to reach isn't at their desk or if all the customer service agents are busy with other calls or if people are out on vacation or the receptionist just can't find them.

Let's just say today was a rough phone day and since I'm the one who receives the call and gets to redirect it, I get to deal with the pissy attitude when no one's around to help the person on the line. *L*

One man was calling for tech support. Two of our tech support guys were tied up with auditors, and the other two were either out of town or tied up with other meetings. I explained that to this man and even gave out cell phone numbers so he could contact. He still called every hour for tech support until I told him that today was a bad day, perhaps he'd have better luck tomorrow or he could leave a message and his call would be returned. Our departments are pretty good about returning calls. Frustrated, he said he'd call back tomorrow.

Another gentleman called later in the afternoon and asked for customer service. Two were tied up with other calls and I rang the other two ladies at least three times while the man was still on the line. No one was available to help him, so I started to explain his options and he got pissy with me. "Well, I have a business to run and it seems you guys don't want my business.." and just hung up. Rude. It's not my fault our agents are busy with other customers. Sheesh.

So yes, please remember when you call some place and get the receptionist or operator...we don't always know where people are. People may not be at their desks and we may not know that. Their lines may be busy. We'll try to the best of our abilities to connect you to someone who'd know how to help you. We're the middlemen so to speak. Don't yell at us..

Unless we really do screw up.
